I am having a rotten day. I think the spooks have gotten into Libbie and perhaps me as well.
This is all I’ve got.

Slightly belated because of our 4-day power outage, but here are some pictures of Easter at our home. I of course took zero pictures of the part where we had people over for dinner! Too busy talking and eating, I guess!
My dress is from Lane Bryant, Libbie’s dress and hat are Janie and Jack bought at a consignment sale, and David’s outfit is from Cracker Barrel – thanks to my sister, Ashley, for finding it!

Libbie and I moved to Chattanooga in January with an aquarium membership fresh in our pockets. I assumed she and I would go there quite a bit. But I also wanted to check out the children’s museum–the Creative Discovery Museum.
We quickly fell in love! While Libbie is still too young to appreciate much of what’s going on there, it’s a great place for her to just run around, play, touch, and explore. As she’s grown she’s become more and more fond of the music section and the art section, too. I hope we’ll keep our membership at the museum for many years to come!
Yesterday we took our first family trip to the museum–Mr. V had never been. Here’s some photographic evidence of the journey.
Dug for dinosaur bones with Daddy …
And played many drums as well as this old Nickelodeon piano!
The Creative Discovery Museum is very reasonable for a year’s membership … and is a place I truly love!

My number one Blissdom concern? Not being able to find the people I want to meet!
I know, it seems silly. I am there to learn and yada yada. We all know that really, it’s a great chance to meet all those people I read every day!
I still can’t believe how many people I didn’t get to meet last year. I was in such a fog of fever and breastfeeding and newness that I simply didn’t connect like I should have. I did get to meet a lot of wonderful women, but knowing now that Jen and Sarah and Mary were all there and I didn’t even say hi to them just eats me up inside!
So, here you go:
This is what I’ll be wearing on Friday and to Savvy Blogging. Surely you won’t be able to miss me if you want to meet me! (Only I might actually do my hair and wear make-up. Maybe.)
I’ll be wearing this sweater and jeans on Saturday:
(They’re not dirty…just my camera flash. Argh.)
And this on Sunday to Amanda’s Pancake Pantry meet-up and to drive home:
P.S. If you are planning on coming to the Pantry–it is ALWAYS absolutely freezing cold. Wear something warm. And the coffee is not very good, so hit up Fido or Provence nearby if you want a good cup.
I’m not faking it here–I am no fashion diva. I’m totally a jeans girl. And yes, this is my same beloved $5 red cardigan. And my bleach-stained jeans.
So will I be able to find you if I want to meet you?
Maybe I should just wear this hat from my Twitter picture and gravatar. Jen from Beauty and Bedlam was worried she wouldn’t be able to find people if they didn’t look like their Twitter pics!

As I was looking through our Christmas pictures (all of which my in-laws took, I forget to take pictures of MY OWN CHILD ON CHRISTMAS), I couldn’t help but compare them to some from last year.

Merry (Belated) Christmas and a Very Happy 2010 from Mr. and Mrs. V and Libbie:
So it seems I am posting more and more to this blog lately. I promise, I do have a life. I think there are two main reasons:
Here we have a rather poor picture of the Christmas tree in our small living room. We had to put our chair in the kitchen to make room for the tree:

Pretty decorations on the entertainment center. We got the little nativity there in the gift shop of our resort in Mexico on our honeymoon. While the taxi was waiting to take us the airport. Because we were too busy vomiting to go into Cancun to shop:

Here’s the china cabinet with my grandmother’s Christmas china, and our “real” nativity on top:
An artsy picture of the coffee table decorations:
Here’s some pretty garland I bought this year for the kitchen. Except I bought half with “snow” and half without. Ask Ashley, I was both sick as a dog and trying to talk on the phone when I was shopping for it. Oops:

The sole decorated space upstairs. This little nook is at the top of the stairs. Usually I attempt to decorate the guest bedroom a little but our normal Christmastime guest isn’t coming this year, so why bother? Yes, we still have our stockings from when we were kids. At least mine isn’t as dorky as Mr. V’s. Teeheehee. I think we decided we don’t have to be grown-ups until we have kids.

I guess I didn’t take pictures of the table this year since it looks just like it did last year. Hmm, well, I just looked at last year’s picture. And it’s kind of sad and lonely. So yes, the table looks better, mainly because we painted the kitchen since then.
Anyway, off to finish my cod and go eat me some dinner and gab with the ladies.
J.
When we bought our dining room set at an estate sale (and when I say we, I mean me with my parents while my husband-to-be was hundreds of miles away), I also bought a little desk-sized Christmas tree. I used it for a year or two and then it disappeared. So this year I set out to replace it. And I couldn’t resist this, my Queen of Tackyness, my darling pink tree. It resides in a corner of my office. I am serious considering leaving it up and decorating for other holidays.
Ain’t she perty?
